A beautician turned cosmetologist and biochemist for the passion of aesthetics
Born in Belgium on February 1, 1917, Nelly De Vuyst began her career in the early 50’s as an owner of a beauty salon. Passionate and committed, Nelly De Vuyst participated in numerous medical conferences that led her to develop a keen interest in the study of plants used in cosmetics. Determined to provide her clients with the best solutions to their skin care concerns, she immediately began flirting with the idea of developing her own range of skin care products.
A true visionary of her time, it was in 1974 that she created the Nelly De Vuyst® Laboratories located in Belgium. A close friend and pharmacist of Madame De Vuyst joined her in the early stages of development for her skin care line and played a key role in the formulation of the first ten products of which included the famous Soft Net Cleansing Cream.
Today, the Nelly De Vuyst® Skin Care line includes more than fifty products offering a full range of treatments targeting specific areas and skin concerns some of which include dry, dehydrated, sensitive, rosacea, sagging and acne skin.
